Give us more details about your persona

Love, retaliation, friendship, family, relationships, and everything else are central to my character. Dev, one of my characters, has experienced heartbreak. He is not, however, negative, grey, or black. He is pink, purple, and lavender. His life has been incredibly colourful. He lives a very understated life. He can move worlds when it comes to Tara. Her influence is profound.

In real life, do you find him relatable?

Without a doubt, Dev is not Vishal. In real life, I’m quite talkative. Although I like to have a good time, Dev has set some boundaries for himself. He never goes beyond what is possible. It’s challenging to comprehend him. But if you see me in person, you’ll be able to tell when I’m joyful or depressed.

You’re going back to TV soap operas after a five-year hiatus. Was this a deliberate choice?

I would like to focus on one task at a time. I wouldn’t be able to manage doing anything else if I was doing a reality show. I made the deliberate choice to complete just one project. In any case, I can’t seem to get enough of acting; it’s my first love. I made the decision to focus solely on love stories for my upcoming project. I used to get offers to work on social dramas or mythological shows, but my dream project was always a passionate love story.

How do you define love?

In my life, love has always played a significant role. Whether they are girlfriends, family, or dates, the women in my life have been incredibly supportive of me. My perspective on love is distinct in my life. I’ll do anything for someone I love. But I would prefer not to find myself in a circumstance where I have to run into my ex-partners. While I don’t get upset when I see my ex-partners, I also wouldn’t want to be friends with them.

I simply do not want to deal with them. It’s my life. For me, pain is a source of so many things. The way I enjoy love, I enjoy heartbreaks too. I have also sat at a Dargah once to listen to qawwali till 4 am. I am like that only. I love that, I want to enjoy the pain. I like to surrender.

You are often linked with different women. Fans speculate dating rumours about you. Does that bother you?

Kuch to log kahenge, logo ka kaam hai kehna! Chodho bekar ki baate. If you are a public figure, people immediately make you a public property. You have to decide now if you want to be a public figure or property. We should never get affected though. I don’t feel uncomfortable though. I never lie, I say the truth about my dating life.

So, are you dating anyone? What are your marriage plans?

No, I am not dating anyone. And marriage plans? I really don’t want to get married till the time I find the right one. It’s very easy to leave a relationship these days. Instead, its better to be in a long relationship for 10-15 years and then decide to get married. I don’t want to get a divorce.
