The film distribution department of Yash Raj Films has kept the release of the long-awaited film ‘Tiger 3’ on Diwali itself. Usually, films releasing in the week of Diwali are released a day or two before Friday, but ‘Tiger 3’ will be the first film to release on Sunday. Due to the possible presence of two more spies Pathan and Kabir from the Yash Raj Spy Universe in the film, this film can become the first Hindi film to take an opening of Rs 100 crore at the domestic box office on the very first day of its release. The story of the film ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, released on 15 August 2012, is going to reach a new turn next month. Avinash Singh Rathore alias Tiger, the most vicious agent of RAW (Research and Analysis Wing), the intelligence agency of the Government of India, has so far completed two big missions and one small mission. His first mission in the film ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ was to find Pakistani agents engaged in acquiring Indian technology from Professor Kidwai. But, in this very mission, he gets arrested for falling in love with Zoya, a spy of the Pakistani spy agency ISI, and by the end of the story, he disappears from the radar of RAW.
This patriotic spy of RAW was seen in the second mission in the film ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. This time he had saved Indian and Pakistani nurses trapped in the clutches of ISC. Before his third big mission could begin, he had to come out to help Pathan, another RAW agent. This third mission of Tiger this time is not for the country but for his family. It has been seen in the trailer of the film ‘Tiger 3’ that this time trouble is on his family. Tiger is helpless in front of the new villain who has joined the Yash Raj spy universe. It seems that this time Tiger will become a rebel while saving his family and to catch him, Pathan will have to take charge in the film ‘Tiger vs Pathan’.
Yash Raj Spy Universe created by Aditya Chopra started with the film ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ based on his own story. Made at a cost of just Rs 75 crore, this film had earned around Rs 335 crore worldwide. Its sequel ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ was released on 22 December 2017 and this time the budget of the film increased to Rs 210 crore and the film earned around Rs 565.10 crore worldwide. Now it is the turn of ‘Tiger 3’. Made with a budget of around Rs 350 crore, this film has been fully prepared in Yash Raj Films to have an opening of Rs 100 crore and that is why this film is going to be released on Sunday.
The third film of Yash Raj Spy Universe was ‘War’ released on 2 October 2019. Before the shooting of this film started, producers Aditya Chopra and Siddharth Anand got the magical idea of creating a completely different world of RAW agents. Colonel Luthra (Ashutosh Rana) replaced Shenoy (Girish Karnad), who was the RAW Chief in the earlier two films, and through this character, the idea of connecting the films of Yash Raj Films Spy Universe was approved. The character of Colonel Luthra has also been seen in the film ‘Pathan’ released this year. The trailer of the film ‘Tiger 3’ starts with Revathi.
With the help of the character of Colonel Luthra, the story of the film ‘Tiger 3’ will move forward from where the audience has seen it in the films ‘War’ and ‘Pathan’. The film ‘Tiger 3′ will actually be a real extension of Yash Raj Films’ spy universe. Although the character of Tiger has been seen in the previous film of this franchise ‘Pathan’, but his mission in the film was limited only to saving RAW agent Pathan. To repay this favour, Pathan is now returning in ‘Tiger 3’. And, not only Shahrukh Khan’s fans but also cinema owners around the world are anxious to see this character.
Tiger 3 trailer gives a sneak peek into Emraan Hashmi’s character of the main antagonist, who has held Tiger captive in Pakistan. The actor’s salt-and-pepper look, which was kept under guards for months, is finally revealed as the closing shot is showcased, setting the stage for an intense face-off between Emraan and Salman.
Tiger 3 will release on Sunday, November 12 which is Diwali day. The film is directed by Maneesh Sharma, who had previously helmed films like Fan, Band Baaja Baaraat among others. Salman Khan had earlier spoken about the action in Tiger 3. “What I love about the Tiger franchise is that the protagonist is presented as the larger-than-life Hindi film hero who can take on an army of people with his bare hands. He is okay shedding blood and still keep standing till everyone around him is finished.”
The actor, who has played Tiger in two earlier iterations and did a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan-fronted Jawan, added, “The heroism (of Tiger) is in him taking the challenge head on and not back down just as a real-life tiger would do when he hunts his prey. My character, Tiger, will never retreat from a fight. He will never give up till he is breathing and he will be the last man standing for his country.”
