The winner of India’s Got Talent, Abujhmad Mallakhamb Academy, says this victory is invaluable

The Abujhmad Academy, a Chhattisgarh-based organisation, demonstrated that anything is achievable with perseverance and hard work. The group won the trophy in the tenth season of India’s Got Talent, and their mallakhamb acts with poles left everyone speechless. The winner of India’s Got Talent, Abujhmad Mallakhamb Academy, says this victory is invaluable.

We contacted the group’s coach, Manoj Prasad, who also performs with them, soon after they were announced winners.

Talking about how they all are feeling right now, he said, “Our entire group was surprised when we won the trophy. You could see the expression on our faces. We are excited, this victory is priceless. Even our parents had tears in their eyes when they got to know about the win. It feels surreal that on such a big show, which has so many people watching, we performed and we won.”

What are they going to do now that they have won IGT? “After this, we hope to compete in and win on America’s Got Talent. However, having an institute where we teach mallakhamb is the ultimate objective. We wish to offer this facility to the many such students in India who do not have the opportunity to learn mallkhamb. In addition, we want to perform live all over India and the world to show off our talent,” Manoj stated on behalf of the whole ensemble.

Speaking about the qualities that made them successful in winning IGT, he said, “We didn’t just use Malkham as our talent on the show. We also performed versions of it with the poles, which are seen globally. To get to where we are now, our entire team has put in a lot of effort. It is nearly impossible to prepare such challenging acts in just two or three days. However, we succeeded in making it happen. We won the show because of the tremendous amount of effort the whole team put forth.”
