If ever there was a casting coup, this is it. According to a new report, Sunny Deol will be seen as Hanuman ji in Ramayana. The trilogy already stars Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana.
Sunny Deol as Hanuman?
According to a source familiar with the situation, “Sunny Deol in the Indian film industry is the best person to justify what Bajrangbali stands for. Hanuman stands for strength.” The actor has expressed interest in taking part in Nitesh Tiwari’s adaptation of the Ramayana and is eager to portray Lord Hanuman. The topic is still in its early stages, though.
Co-producing the Ramayana adaption with Nitesh, Madhu Mantena, Namit Malhotra, and Allu Aravind. According to the source, all four co-producers are on board with the concept of creating a spin-off based on Sunny’s character in addition to casting Sunny as Hanuman in the Ramayana trilogy. The actor is actually interested in the project because of the concept of a distinct track.
The Ramayana is but a portion of Lord Hanuman’s life; the tale has many additional parts. With a stand-alone movie about Lord Hanuman, Nitesh wishes to investigate that. From the shoot date to the commitment for the franchise spin-offs and the financial structure, everything must line up, the person continued, according to the newspaper. The trilogy is anticipated to begin production in February of next year.
Gadar is inspired by Ramayana
Although Sunny has never before taken on a legendary role of the grandeur of Hanuman, the Ramayana served as the inspiration for his 2001 action romance smash Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, according to the film’s director, Anil Sharma. What was Gadar? Anil asked at the Gadar 2 success press conference in August of this year. The Ramayana was the first Gadar. To bring Sita back, Rama ji travels to Lanka.
I reasoned that since the Ramayana is ingrained in people’s hearts, this won’t be a box office failure. The second tale was from the Mahabharata: what if Arjun himself arrives to save Abhimanyu while he is trapped in the Chakravyuh? No one could have failed because the story is also deeply ingrained in people’s hearts.
Apart from the possibility of Ramayana, Sunny will definitely be seen in Lahore 1947 also.
