Actress Emma Thompson revealed in an interview that a personal tragedy inspired her performance in the film "Love Actually."
Matt Smith looked stylish and warm as he walked his Irish Terrier Dog Bobby around North London on Jan. 31, 2022.
The scene in question features Thompson's character, Karen, crying alone in her bedroom after discovering her husband's infidelity.
Thompson said she had recently experienced a similar heartbreak in her own life, which made the scene particularly difficult to film.
Despite her emotions, Thompson said she was able to use the pain she felt to create a more authentic performance.
"Love Actually" was released in 2003 and has become a holiday classic, known for its ensemble cast and intertwining storylines.
In addition to Thompson, the film stars Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Keira Knightley, and Colin Firth, among others.
Thompson has won two Academy Awards for her acting and has also received critical acclaim for her work as a screenwriter and author.
In the interview, Thompson also discussed her role in the upcoming film "Cruella," in which she plays the Baroness von Hellman.
"Cruella" is a live-action prequel to the Disney classic "101 Dalmatians" and stars Emma Stone in the title role.
The film is set to be released in May 2021 and is expected to be a major box office success.
