Nominees for the Oscars
For the first time since 2016, the nominations for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences were revealed live at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, in front of a press and publicist-packed audience.
The 2023 Oscars will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel for the third time; Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner, who have produced numerous televised trophyfests, will serve as producers.
The 2017 awards were notable not just for the Oscars that were given out, but also for Will Smith slapping Chris Rock and the contentious choice to present eight categories in advance and televise edited versions of those remarks.
Bill Kramer, the CEO of the New Academy, has stated that this year’s live presentation should honour all of the categories.
The Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood will host the 95th Academy Awards on Sunday, March 12, and ABC will broadcast the ceremony live.
