The eighth season of Koffee with Karan premieres on Disney+ Hotstar on Thursday at 12 a.m. IMDb has released a list of the most highly rated episodes of the renowned talk show over its seven and nineteen years, prior to host Karan Johar taking the infamous couch.
Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor – Season 1
Do you recall when Kareena and Rani first appeared on Koffee with Karan? In particular, Kareena attacked everyone — including herself — with full force. She claimed that because Rani and she are from different genres, they are not competitors. She replied, “Bad movies,” in a hilarious way, when asked what genre she prefers.
Juhi Chawla and Madhuri Dixit – Season 4
Watching two female friends converse on the coffee couch is a popular pastime. Juhi and Madhuri talked about their long-running rivalry from the 1990s in this episode. In a direct response, Madhuri said, “All of them,” when asked if she could perform Sheila Ki Jawani or Munni Badnaam Hui better.
Shah Rukh Khan – Season 3
After appearing with co-stars Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Amitabh Bachchan, and wife Gauri Khan on the first two seasons, Shah Rukh went solo in Season 3. Even Karan teared towards the end as the actor talked about his association with the filmmaker’s late father, Yash Johar.
Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor – Season 3
It was the episode where Kareena broke the news that she and then-boyfriend Saif would tie the knot in 2012. Not only Karan, but even Saif was taken aback by that announcement.
Anurag Kashyap and Anushka Sharma – Season 4
Anushka addressed the controversy around her ‘lip job’ during this episode in which she featured alongside her Bombay Velvet director Anurag Kashyap and co-star Karan Johar.
Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan – Season 3
In this episode, when Karan asked Aishwarya who the Khan of all seasons is out of Aamir, Shah Rukh, and her ex-boyfriend Salman, Aishwarya replied in front of her husband Abhishek, “We’re Bachchans for all seasons, and my name is not Khan,” cheekily referring to Karan’s 2010 directorial with Shah Rukh.
Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor – Season 2
It’s the episode when Shahid correctly guessed John Abraham as the actor who his then-girlfriend Kareena would never want to be paired with. Kareena even described John as “expressionless” in the Rapid Fire round.
Kajol and Ayan Mukerji – Season 4
It was the first time Kajol was seen chatting with her cousin Ayan. Kajol admitted that she doesn’t choose to play poor women because she “looks rich.”
Madhuri Dixit – Season 2
Madhuri had taken a sabbatical from Bollywood before she appeared on Koffee with Karan in 2007. It was the same year she made her return with Aaja Nachle. Madhuri’s co-stars, including Shah Rukh, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, and Sanjay Dutt famously heaped praises on her in this episode.

This episode felt like a Kapoor family reunion as Rishi and Neetu Kapoor appeared alongside Randhir and Rajiv Kapoor, and Ritu Nanda, and the whole family spilled beans on the inside family dynamics.
