Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif play important roles in the YRF Spy Universe. Katrina Kaif picks who would win in a head-to-head battle between Tiger 3’s Zoya and Pathan’s Deepika Padukone. In an interview with India Today, Katrina revealed her prediction for the winner of a fantasy fight between Deepika Padukone’s spy character Rubai from Pathaan and her character Zoya from Tiger 3.
Let’s put it this way, see. Although I’m not familiar with all the backstories, Zoya seems like the most seasoned agent. Thus, greater fighting experience follows from experience. “I’ll let you make the final decision,” declared Katrina, who returned to the role of Pakistani spy Zoya in Tiger 3.
In addition, Katrina was asked to select her sidekick from Pathaan (played by Shah Rukh Khan) or War (starring Hrithik Roshan as Kabir). The first thing to say about this amazing movie I’m doing is that Pathaan, also known as Kabir, is my sidekick!
The best thing about the Spy Universe is that every character is so brilliantly developed and has a distinct personality that you can pretty much place them anywhere. Everything fits together flawlessly. In the same interview, Katrina stated, “That’s in the strength of the characters.”
In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times when choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant was asked to distinguish between the dancing styles of Katrina and Deepika, she said, “Katrina comes from a place of anxiety. She wants to make sure she doesn’t disappoint anybody. Deepika came in as the completely opposite. She’s a quiet worker. She did her rehearsals silently. She does her homework.
Katrina also does her homework, but she’s like, ‘Dekho, dekho, main apna homework karke aayi hu (See, see, I’ve done my homework).’ She needs a sign off from me on everything, including her costumes. Deepika worked on her costume herself. Katrina is that front bencher who’s a teacher’s pet. She’s very hands-on. Deepika is that mid-bencher who comes with a certain ease.”
