Will Johnny Depp Return As Captain Jack Sparrow In Disney Next ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Movie?

Johnny Depp Return As Captain Jack Sparrow ? Disney has not ruled out Johnny Depp returning to the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise.

The studio fired the 59-year-old actor as Captain Jack Sparrow in 2018 in order to add “new energy” to the franchise, but Disney Studios Motion Picture president Sean Bailey hasn’t ruled out the possibility of the actor returning for a sixth film.

Bailey told The New York Times, “We think we have a really good, exciting story that honor’s the films that have come before but also has something new to say.”

When asked if Johnny Depp will appear in the film, Bailey stated that the studio was “noncommittal at this time.”

Jerry Bruckheimer produced all of the films in the series and claimed last year that he would “love” to see Johnny Depp return to the series after winning his defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard – though he emphasised that Disney would have the ultimate word.

“You’d have to ask them,” the 79-year-old film producer told The Hollywood Reporter. That is a question I am unable to answer. I honestly don’t know.

“I’d love to have him in the film. He’s a friend and a fantastic actor, and it’s awful that our personal lives infiltrate everything we do.”

Bruckheimer, the producer of movies such as ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ and ‘Top Gun,’ also confirmed that Captain Jack Sparrow would never be killed off.

“You can’t,” he said. We attempted to murder him. It was ineffective.”

Johnny had expressed regret at last year’s trial that he would not be able to say goodbye to Jack Sparrow after nearly 20 years of playing the pirate.

“My feeling was that these characters should be able to have their proper goodbye, as it were,” the ‘Edward Scissorhands’ star added.

“There’s a way to end a franchise like that, and I thought the characters deserved to have their way out, to end the franchise on a very good note.” I intended to keep going until it was time to stop.”
