After a period of a lull for the past two years, the year 2022 has had a stupendous start with big-ticket films taking the box office by storm with one release after another. The month of April has a line-up of some very interesting films. From ‘Jersey’, ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ to ‘Heropanti 2’, here are films that are all set to hit the theatres in April.
02/ ‘Dasvi’
Abhishek Bachchan is all set to have his first release this year. His film, ‘Dasvi’ is a social comedy-drama that also stars Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur in lead roles. Junior Bachchan will be seen essaying the role of an illiterate politician in the movie who takes up the challenge to pass the class 10th examination while in jail. Directed by Tushar Jalota, ‘Dasvi’ will be released on April 7.
03/ ‘Jersey’
After getting stalled and postponed for a long time, Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Jersey’ is all set to hit the theatres on April 14, on the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi. The film, which is an official remake of the Telugu film of the same name, also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur in key roles. Shahid will be seen essaying the role of a cricketer in the movie. It will be locking horns with ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ at the box office.
04/ ‘KGF: Chapter 2’
The much-awaited ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ is finally ready to take the box office by storm with its release on April 14 clashing with Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Jersey’. After the super success of ‘KGF’, the makers of the film have also roped in Bollywood actors like Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon in key roles for the sequel. It is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films of the year.
05/ ‘Runway 34’
After his last directorial, ‘Shivaay’, Ajay Devgn’s is coming up with his next titled, ‘Runway 34’. The film is a drama thriller based on the real incident that took place on the 2015 Jet Airways Doha-Kochi flight. It narrowly escaped disaster after facing difficulties due to poor visibility. The edge-of-the-seat thriller stars Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan, and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles.
06/ ‘Heropanti 2’
Tiger Shroff is all set for the sequel of his debut Bollywood movie, ‘Heropanti’. The film will also star Tara Sutaria in the lead role. The film has also brought together the ‘Rangeela’ trio – AR Rahman, Mehboob and Ahmed Khan. Apart from Tara and Tiger, ‘Heropanti 2’ stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the role of an antagonist. The film is also slated to release on April 29, clashing with ‘Runway 32’.
