Jennifer Lawrence aspires to take on Katniss Everdeen once more in “The Hunger Games.”

The literary saga “The Hunger Games” once attained international renown due to the excellence of the original books as well as the success and influence of the various films that were in charge of bringing the original novels to the big screen, and one of the most well-known names in the process was Jennifer Lawrence.

It makes sense if we consider that the protagonist, Katniss Everdeen, was portrayed by a then-unknown actress.

She received high praise from both critics and fans of the series in all of its versions for both her commanding presence on screen and her acting prowess.

Jennifer Lawrence to return to play Katniss Everdeen

The actor is still really appreciative of her position despite not forgetting her history.

She has stated that if the need arises, she would not mind in the slightest reprising the voice of Katniss.

The topic came up, she explained in an interview for “Variety” while promoting the newest movie, “No Hard Feelings,” in which she stars.

“Totally! When asked if she would reprise the role, she said, “Oh my word.

“If only Katniss could ever return to my life, without a doubt.”

She thought the concept was fantastic, therefore any potential changes would be welcomed.

At the moment, however, this does not seem likely to happen, as ‘A Ballad of Songbirds’, a prequel to the original books and films, is currently in production.

With that in mind, it seems unlikely that any kind of new project involving Katniss will be announced, but it would be exciting for fans and Lawrence if it were.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, which serves as a prequel to the films, stars Viola Davis, Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth, Peter Dinklage, Jason Schwartzman and Hunter Schafer. The film chronicles Coriolanus Snow’s (played by Donald Sutherland in the previous films) rise to power to become the President of Panem. It is slated to release on November 17.

Lawrence’s upcoming film — No Hard Feelings — is a raunchy comedy in which the actress plays the role of a Uber driver hired by a wealthy couple (Matthew Broderick and Laura Benanti) to date and seduce their 19-year-old son (Andrew Barth Feldman). Directed by Gene Stupnitsky, the film is set for a June 23 release.

When asked by ET’s Nischelle Turner about her flip-flops controversy, she responded: “Ok, thank you for bringing this up. I would really like to straighten this out.”

Jennifer went on to clarify, “I was not making a political statement, not that I wouldn’t. I had no idea until it like, came out that there was a whole controversy with people wearing flats, or like, walking down the red carpet barefoot.” She then stressed: “I had no clue.”

On the reason why she traded heels with the flats, the leading lady of ‘The Hunger Games’ film series unveiled: “My shoes were a size too big.” She further broke down her situation at the time: “And I wore heels going up, but then I forgot to take a picture with my production team, Excellent Cadaver.”

“So, we had to take an Excellent Cadaver picture, and I knew I would eat s**t if I went down in the shoes that were a size too big,” the Oscars winner continued. “I put on the flip-flops, and then everybody’s like, ‘What a statement! Wow!’ I’m all for making a statement. I just would want it to be on purpose.”

Jennifer Lawrence sent the internet buzzing for her choice to wear flip-flops at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival back on May 21. At the time, she hit the red carpet to attend the premiere of ‘Anatomie d’une Chute (Anatomy of a Fall)’. Looking bright in a sleeveless long red gown designed by Dior Haute Couture, she completed her look with a red wrap and sparkling Archi Dior necklace.

Many, however, were left shocked when the ‘X-Men: First Class’ actress lifted up her dress while walking down the stairs of the Palais des Festivals. Instead of heels, she was seen wearing black flats underneath her glam dress. Though so, at one point during the event, she was also spotted wearing a pair of red satin high heels.
