When discussing his career in film, Bollywood star Sunny Deol, who is currently attending the 54th International Film Festival of India in Goa, Industry Falls Short in Recognizing Sunny Deol’s Talent, broke down in tears. After Gadar, Sunny claimed, a “struggle period” had begun. He also mentioned that he had not received any screenplay offers following the movie.
“I have been really very lucky,” the actor said in response to Rahul Rawail’s questions concerning his journey and his experiences working with renowned directors. My issue is that I simply become overly emotional.
Sunny went on, “I was really lucky. I spoke with Rahul first. He gifted me three stunning films. Not all of them were successful. However, people still recall those films. I am in this position because of my films. My struggle period began after Gadar, a huge hit, because I was not being offered subjects or scripts, and things were not happening.
Despite the fact that I worked on a few films in between, there was a 20-year lapse. I didn’t give up though. I was never stopping myself. I went into acting because I wanted to be an actor, not a celebrity. I had watched my father’s films, and I wanted to make films of that calibre as well.
During the discussion, Rajkumar Santoshi expressed his opinion, saying, “I think the industry has not done justice to Sunny’s talent.” However, God has acted justly. Sunny Deol broke down in tears after hearing the director’s remarks.
At IFFI 2023, Sunny’s Gadar 2 was screened. Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma play important roles in the Anil Sharma-directed movie. With over Rs 500 crore in box office revenue, Gadar 2 had a historic run.
