At the Filmfare Round Table in Mumbai, Imtiaz Ali addressed the rumours about Jab We Met 2. He flatly denied being involved in the initiative and said that no communications had taken place. He emphasised the requirement for a compelling narrative to support a sequel and stressed the significance of not “messing around” with a well-liked movie. In response to rumours of Jab We Met 2.
Imtiaz Ali marked his presence at the inaugural Filmfare Round Table which was held in Mumbai on Wednesday, October 12. In an exclusive conversation with during the prestigious event, the filmmaker opened up about rumours of Jab We Met 2 doing rounds.
When asked about what he has to say about the rumours that he is working on the sequel of the Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor starrer, Imtiaz told us, “I have also heard these rumours, I have also been told that there is a storyline and if it is there it is not with me for sure. I am saying this very categorically that there is nothing that I am doing in terms of Jab We Met 2 right now. No conversations at all have happened.”
“See, a movie that people love is occasionally mentioned, and I’m very appreciative of that,” he continued. However, just because they adored the first one doesn’t justify creating another. One shouldn’t really mess with it unless there is a very compelling new tale to tell.
Imtiaz added, “Shah Rukh Khan is a terrific man. It was great to see him again after Jab Harry Met Sejal. He is an excellent artist. I’m hoping we can collaborate again soon.
