Garth Brooks is facing a boycott over serving Bud Light

After declaring that he would offer “every brand of beer” at his new bar, including Bud Light, which conservatives have criticised for its recent partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, Garth Brooks angered some country music fans. Garth Brooks is facing a boycott.

Due of Bud Light’s partnership with Mulvaney, the beer was widely boycotted and subjected to dramatic displays of force. In one instance, Kid Rock, a favourite of the MAGA community, recorded himself opening numerous cases of the beer to express his disgust with the collaboration.

The upcoming Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk in Nashville’s South Broadway District, according to Garth Brooks, the second-best-selling musical artist of all time, plans for it to be “the Chick-fil-A of honky-tonks.”

“I want it to be a place where you feel safe in, where you feel like there are manners and people like one another,” he said. “And absolutely, we will offer every beer brand. We simply are. It’s not up to us to decide. If you’re allowed inside this house, we ask that you treat one another with love. There are a plenty of other locations on lower Broadway if you’re an asshole.

Bud Light was taken off the menu at other establishments in the same area of lower Broadway, including Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock n’ Roll Steakhouse, in early April. However, when Insider checked the steakhouse’s website in June, the beer was once again available.

Some of Brooks’ conservative fans are upset with the country star for supporting the drink. With over 30,700 views, the hashtag #boycottgarthbrooks is widely used.

“He’s making me want to go to Nashville just so I could go ahead and piss on his doorstep,”

“Now I delete every Garth Brooks song from my collection. NEVER AGAIN GARTH!” tweeted Robert Cornicelli, a Republican who ran for New York’s 2nd Congressional District last year and lost.

“We don’t put up with that, you know why? We’re Americans, bro,” said one TikToker. “We fight for what’s right. We fight for what’s true. We don’t cater to mental illness. No. Garth Brooks, go hide under a rock. You’re irrelevant. Not worth a word anymore. You know what? I don’t listen to any of your songs anymore.”

Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz even weighed in, alleging that Brooks cheated on his first wife, Sandy Mahl, with his current wife, Trisha Yearwood.

Brooks has already infuriated conservatives before. In addition, he faced a boycott threat in 2021 after appearing at President Joe Biden’s inauguration.

Bud Light has changed its marketing strategy since its association with Mulvaney, and the vice president of marketing has been fired. Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth stated in a letter made public on April 14: “We have thousands of partners, millions of fans, and a proud history supporting our communities, military, first responders, sports fans, and hard-working Americans everywhere.”
