Emraan Hashmi recently opened up about his initial thoughts on joining the star-studded cast of Salman Khan’s Tiger 3. The secret of Emraan hesitation behind almost saying no to Tiger 3.
Despite the allure of the YRF Spy Universe, Hashmi admitted to a ‘fleeting thought’ about turning down the antagonist role.
In an exclusive interview with Siddharth Kannan, Emraan delves into the behind-the-scenes decision-making process.
Hashmi, known for his versatile roles, expressed how the offer initially made him contemplate rejection.
“When I was told that I am being considered for the antagonist in Tiger, there was a fleeting thought that [said] no. Because it’s Salman and it’s Tiger and it’s his brand,” he shared.
However, this momentary doubt evaporated as soon as he delved into the intricacies of the script.
Aditya Chopra’s strategic decision to keep Emraan’s role under wraps during the film’s production added an element of suspense. Emraan clarified, “There was never a time when I felt insecure of not getting my place in the sun. Aditya Chopra told me that we will reveal you at a time when it’s right.”
The actor emphasized that Maneesh, the director, played a pivotal role in convincing him. When Maneesh narrated the script and outlined the character Aatish, Emraan’s perception changed.
“When I heard the character arc, I knew this is an interesting guy. Even though it’s Tiger’s story, Aatish’s motivations make a big impact.”
What convinced Emraan even more was the depth of Aatish’s character. He highlighted, “He’s not ruthless and evil for the sake of it.

Working alongside Salman Khan, Emraan shared insights into their camaraderie. “There was no moment where we broke the ice as I had already met Salman a few times.
He is a very chilled-out guy. What you see is what you get with Salman. He’s not projecting something. If he likes you, he likes you. He’s generally very fond of me. I’m very fond of him,” he revealed.
Emraan Hashmi’s journey from a momentary hesitation to fully embracing his character in Tiger 3 adds an intriguing layer to the film’s anticipation.
