Filmmaker Ekta Kapoor responded to some online criticism on Twitter while in an aggressive temper. She started out by discussing her most recent film, Thank You For Coming, which stars Bhumi Pednekar and Shehnaaz Gill. “So I’m back briefly on Twitter before my team kicks me out for talking too much,” Ektaa tweeted.

Producer Rhea Kapoor defended her movie in response to people who had criticised it, saying, “#ThankYouForComing is a small crazy movie made by mad crazy partner Rhea (Kapoor) that doesn’t shatter patriarchy but tickles with feathers under its nose so all the bulls***t gets sneezed out! There are just two options: visible hatred or passionate adoration for the movie.
“Me, with my thrill-seeking problems, would not want it any other way! From receiving abuse for ‘promoting’ self-pleasure and ‘ruining’ society (how is that ruining anything if you’re keeping your hands to yourself?) to receiving praise from Indian and foreign press.” “#ThankYouForComing begs a significant question about how comfortable we are with women making their own decisions and who gets to decide how much “freedom” is “allowed,” she continued, noting the irony of the remark.
Ektaa Kapoor on making ‘adult movies’
In addition to these, Ekta addressed trolls on the microblogging platform. Ektaa said, “No, I’m an adult so I will make adult films,” to someone who had written, “Pls stop making adult films.” Yet another message read, “Shame on you.” “Shame on me,” she replied in response.

Another Twitter user accused her and Karan Johar of destroying the culture of the country with their films and television shows. “You and Karan Johar have ruined the nation,” the individual tweeted, “Aap or Karan Johar ne pure India ko bigada.” The director said, “Hmmmmmm!” The same person also charged Ektaa and Karan Johar with raising the divorce rate in the nation. While Ektaa was silent, she did answer with “Hmmmmmmm hmmmmmm.”
