‘Avatar 3’ was Pushed a year to 2025, two ‘Star Wars’ films are scheduled for 2026, and two ‘Avengers’ films have been delayed

The theatrical release schedule has undergone a significant redesign by the Disney film industry. The studio made a number of adjustments public on Tuesday, the most significant of which is that it will release two Star Wars films in 2026 and would delay Avatar 3‘ was Pushed a year to 2025. Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 will now debut in theatres in December 2029 and December 2031, respectively, putting a three-year delay between each than had been anticipated.

Highlights include the fact that Ryan Reynolds’ unnamed Deadpool 3 will now debut in theatres on May 3, 2024, rather than Nov. 8, 2024, which will please fans of the actor.

Avengers: Kang Dynasty, another Marvel Studios project, has been postponed one year to May 1, 2026. Jonathan Majors, who is in hot water right now, will play the lead in the movie. In a courtroom in New York, the actor is accused of assault. Avengers: Secret Wars, the sequel, has also been postponed one year, to May 7, 2027.

Since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker debuted in theatres in 2019, Lucasfilm has not released another Star Wars film. A 2025 Star Wars film was shifted by Lucasfilm on Tuesday from December 2025 to May 22, 2026.
