OMG 2 starring Akshay Kumar will at last be available on OTT. On October 8, Netflix will release the movie, which encountered previously unheard-of difficulties when the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) requested 27 cuts. In a recent interview with India Today, Akshay Kumar talks about OTT release of OMG 2 by CBFC, the actor discussed the film’s OTT release and responded to reports that the board believed “it was an adult film.”
What Akshay said
Akshay Kumar spoke candidly about the CBFC’s suggested modifications in a recent interview with India Today and declared, “I don’t want to fight. I’m not familiar with the rules. I refrained from reading the rulebook. Did you all agree that it was an adult movie if they felt it was one? Everyone we showed the movie to thought it was fantastic. I made it for kids, and I’m excited that it will be available on Netflix. I’m done now. The fact that people should be aware of it is crucial. The picture was given an A certificate by the CBFC with 27 cuts, ending weeks of rumours over whether it would get a U/A certificate.
Akshay went on to give an example of how the way people think collectively needs to change. Akshay reflected on his experiences while promoting his 2018 film Padman, saying, “I made a film on sanitary pads at a period when nobody would dare to handle a sanitary pad in their hand, people weren’t willing to touch it. I won’t mention their name, but I was standing next to the event’s principal guest. This person approached me and muttered in my ear, “Acchha nahi lagta,” or “doesn’t look good,” that I shouldn’t give him a pad.
