Tiger 3 Box Office Collection: Salman Khan’s Action Spectacle Nears $400 Million Worldwide on Day 9

On the ninth day of its release, Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 made the least amount of money in one day at the box office in India, taking in Rs 6.5 crore across all languages, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. Tiger 3 Box Office Collection. Though it had a great opening on Diwali, the action movie has not performed well at the box office.

The movie has brought in a total of Rs 236 crore from domestic sales; another Rs 250 crore is anticipated, but Rs 300 crore is most likely out of reach. In contrast, during its domestic theatrical run earlier this year, Pathaan, the fourth movie in YRF’s Spy Universe, earned over Rs 500 crore.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan earned over Rs 1000 crore globally as well; Tiger 3 will be lucky to make up half of that amount. With about Rs 380 crore in the bank, the movie is currently creeping up on the Rs 400 crore milestone. Tiger 3 reported overall Hindi language occupancy of 13% on day nine, with nearly zero revenue coming from Telugu and Tamil releases.

Salman is not only less popular abroad than Shah Rukh, but he is also finding it difficult to gain traction in the southern region of India, even after several failed attempts to create crossover hits with films like Dabangg 3 and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Tiger 3, which was made on an alleged budget of Rs 300 crore, is probably going to be regarded as a failure, especially considering the high expectations and the brief appearances of Shah Rukh and Hrithik Roshan.

Even though there was no industry strike in India, YRF decided to use the same marketing strategy that made Pathaan with Tiger 3 so successful by preventing its stars from discussing it with the media. More than anything else, though, the general lack of interest shown by both reviewers and viewers likely hurt the movie.

After War 2, which is presently in production, there will be a Tiger vs. Pathaan movie, which will take place in the YRF Spy Universe. Tiger Zinda Hai, War, and Pathaan have all made more money than Tiger 3, which is currently the second-lowest grossing movie in the series, behind only Ek Tha Tiger.
