Review of the Movie Dono: Avnish Barjatya continues the illustrious tradition of Rajshri Productions with “nayi soch”

Review of the Movie Dono, a highly credible movie with an amazing fresh vision from the Rajshri banner, is directed by Avnish Barjatya and stars Rajveer Deol and Paloma in the key parts. Read our analysis.

Story:

Dev Saraf (Rajveer Deol), who is in Bangalore working on his start-up, learns that his longtime love is shortly to be engaged. Dev finds it difficult to absorb the same, but he ultimately resolves to go to her destination wedding, which is set for 6 months from now, in order to find solace. He meets Meghna (Paloma Dhillon) who is the best friend of the groom and has recently broken up with him. She is uneasy because her ex is still present and is constantly making fun of her. The two get closer, but is it simple to move on and find closure while Meghna’s ex and Dev’s longtime crush are still alive?

Work

For a first-time director, Avnish Barjatya’s direction is impressive. The phrase “the apple hasn’t fallen too far from the tree” is not incorrect. He steers a skillfully created, complex, forward-thinking movie that stays true to Rajshri’s origins. It fits in well with the banner’s illustrious filmography. ‘Rishta Wahi, Soch Nayi’ is unquestionably Rajshri’s work. There is no sense of forced conflict. No one is portrayed as a villain, and all the characters are real. The photography, soundtrack, and other technical components of the production are all quite impressive.

What’s not in the movie:

Dono’s screenplay is not perfect. The movie has several sluggish or dragging spots, especially in the second act. The movie may be cut by at least 20 minutes. Along the way, it also falls victim to a few cliched cliches, most of which could have been avoided with ease. Although Rajveer Deol is serious for a debutant, many intense sequences are less intense because of him. A more accomplished performance could have given a noble movie like Dono more impact.

Performances of DONO movie:

Even though Rajveer Deol is earnest, the film needs more from him. To claim that the movie lacks the required lift because of a performance that leaves you wanting more is unfair.

Paloma Dhillon is lovely and endearing as Meghna. She gives a strong performance and exhibits a lot of promise.

The supporting cast, which includes Manik Papneja, Rohan Khurana, Aditya Nanda, and Kanikka Kapur, is excellent. They significantly contribute to the movie’s high level of interest and enjoyment.

Final Verdict of DONO movie:

Dono Movie consistently delivers. The entire show is an Avnish Barjatya production. It is a debut that will get attention. The real deal is represented by directors like Avnish, who are capable of giving established ideas and customs a fresh flavour and interpretation, worth a look.
